Poland regained its independence following the
end of WW1. It reaffirmed its sovereignty after a
series of military conflicts, most notably the
Polish–Soviet War (1918-1921), when Poland
inflicted a crushing defeat on the Red Army at
the Battle of Warsaw. During this period, Poland
successfully managed to fuse the territories of
the three former partitioning empires into a
cohesive nation-state.
The Polish Military Purchasing Mission was
stationed in Paris and its scope was the
acquisition and transport of war material for
the Polish Army during the Polish-Soviet War.
Over the years of their operation the Staff of the
Mission managed to cover significant needs of
the Polish Army in the field of small arms and
artillery equipment, uniforms, footwear, horses
and horse equipment as well as airplanes and
observation balloons.
The badge is scarce.
