colonial enclave on the North African coast).
This is the blackened bronze example that was
issued to soldiers and other ranks.
The medal was instituted, in this form, in 1915,
during the reign of King Alfonso XIII.
It was awarded to Spanish military personnel for
meritorious service in Morocco.
