Spain: Officer’s Cross in the Order of Civil Merit
(5th Class of the Order).
The Order was instituted by King Alphonso XIII
in 1926.
It was awarded for exceptional meritorious
services of civil nature. It was abolished by the
Republic in 1931 and was re-instituted in 1942
by General Franco in 1942, this time in 7 classes
instead of the initial 5 classes.
This is a post WW2 example, of superb quality,
most likely of the 1950s.
