SPAIN: Royal and Military Order of St Hermenegild,
Gold Cross.
The Order was instituted by King Ferdinand VII in
1814 to be awarded to military personnel for
constancy and exceptional conduct.
Inscribed: "PREMIO A LA CONSTANCIA MILITAR"
(Award for Military Constancy).
The Order remains in use and it is currently
awarded to members of the Spanish Armed Forces
and Civil Guard.
