United Nations: Korean version of the United 
Nations Commemorative Medal for the 
participation in the Operations during the 
Korean War, under the UN mandate. 
Issued to South Korean Military personnel 
"For Services Defending the Principles of the 
United Nations Charter“.
The Medal was established by the UN in 1950 
and it was awarded to the members of the 
multi-national forces who participated in the 
Korean War (27 June 1950 and 27 July 1954), 
in different form of the reverse side for each 
participating Nation.  
The Korean version of the UN Commemorative 
Medal for the Korean War is rarely seen.
