Original United Nations Medal for service in 
Cyprus (UNFICYP), awarded to a member of the 
Finnish Battalion. 
Instituted in 1964, the medal honors 90+ days of 
consecutive peacekeeping service post-March 
1965 (30 days, March 1964-March 1965). 
By the end of their mission in 1977, 10,000 
Finnish troops had served under the UN mandate. 
A scarce and historically significant medal from 
one of the earliest and longest-running UN 
peacekeeping missions.
