by Tanfani & Bertarelli in Rome.
With the Papal Coat of Arms of Pope John XXIII
(1958-1963) on the lid.
The decoration was established in 1888 by Pope
Leo XIII, in 3 classes, to be awarded to those who
had significant contribution on his Golden Jubilee
and the Vatican Exposition.
Since 1898 it is awarded to members of the
Church (clergy) and civilians as a recognition of
outstanding service to the Pope or the Catholic
Church.

Condition as on the photos: The leather at the
hinge of the box is torn (due to use). The lid
remains in its place by the inner lining of the
box and opens-closes normally.
