the Papal Coat of Arms on the lid.
The Order of Saint Gregory was initially
instituted by Pope Gregory XVI in 1831 and is
awarded for meritorious services to the Catholic
Church.
This is a WW2 era example.
The Commander's Cross is quite hard to find.
