Germany WWI Argonne Cross 1914 1918 1st Type with Swords by Fleck & Sohn

GERMANY - Weimar Republic: WW1 Commemorative 
Cross for the Battle of the Argonne Forest. 
This is the 1st type of the Cross, with round arms.
There are 5 types of these Crosses (Somme, Verdun, 
Champagne, Argonne, and Eastern Front) for the 
veterans who participated in the respective battles- 
campaigns. 
All were made by the same maker and were privately 
purchased by the Veterans. Despite being unofficial 
awards they were proudly worn on medal bars just 
like the officially issued war medals.
All Crosses were banned in 1935 by the Nazi regime.
