postcard from the Western Front series, showing 
ruins in Longuyon, occupied France. 
Written on reverse, dated 18 October 1914.
The sender, a soldier stationed in Longuyon, 
writes to his sweetheart, reports being in good 
health, bunked in a hall with 90 men, feeling 
homesick and expresses hopes of returning soon. 
Standard postcard format, approx. 14 × 9 cm.
A historical artifact from the Western Front, ideal 
for collectors of German WW1 militaria and 
wartime correspondence.
