Imperial Germany: Red Cross service medal,
1914 - 1918, III Class.
The medal was established in 1898 to be
awarded for service to the Prussian Red Cross
Society.
The medals were initially struck in bronze.
In 1916 the material changed to iron. Since
1917 and until 1921 the medals were struck in
zinc alloy.
Standard issue, zinc made example.
