Medal of the Friuli Earthquake (1976).

the epicenter of the earthquake), with structural

Government Commissioner for Friuli 1976.
The medal was instituted in 1977 & was awarded

of Friuli (the extreme northeastern region of Italy)
following the earthquakes of May and Sep. 1976.
The Medals were established in 3 classes (gold,
silver, and bronze).
The medals for the military personnel (as of this
example) were called "Commemorative Medals"
and were issued only in bronze with this type of
ribbon.
The Merit Medals (for civilians) had a 4 stripe
ribbon.
The medal is rarely seen.
