PORTUGAL: Exemplary Conduct Medal, Silver 
(2nd) Class in silvered bronze.
The medal was initially instituted in 1863. 
It was amended in this form in 1911 by the 1st 
Republic of Portugal (established in 1910 – the 
date on the medal) to replace the respective 
medal of the period of the Monarchy.
The Silver Class of the Medal was awarded for 
15 years of Military Service of Exemplary Good 
Conduct, Discipline and Loyalty.
