Spain: Order of Civil Merit, Breast Star of the 
Commander by Number (3rd Class of the 
Order).
Dimensions: 68.7mm x 67.4mm
The Order was instituted by King Alphonso XIII 
in 1926. 
It was awarded for exceptional meritorious 
services of civil nature. It was abolished by the 
Republic in 1931 and was re-instituted in 1942 
by General Franco in 1942, this time in 7 classes
instead of the initial 5 classes.
This is an early post 1942 example of superb 
quality.
